Malik Beasley & Domantas sabonis: Before & After (Kinetic Linking) Shooting edits

Malik’s 17/18 vs. 18/19 Shooting Habits edit

 Changes to Malik’s Shot

Malik’s Hips; Watching where his toes are pointed to start the shot and where they finish show the extent of this 90 degree hip rotation. In the 18/19 season you’ll see Malik’s hips are a lot more “frozen” when he shoots.

Malik’s Shot Prep Footwork; He did not “DO HIS WORK EARLY” with his feet to be prepared to shoot the ball in rhythm and on balance.

Malik’s Power; Both of the previous changes helped the process of moving Malik’s power source from being “loaded” in his knees to being loaded in his hips.

Domantas’s 19/20 vs. 21/22 Shooting Habits edit

 Changes to Domantas’s Shot

Catch -> Release Track - Allowing the opportunity to transition the power source.

Power Source - Moving power from being “loaded” in his knees & shoulder to being loaded in his hips.

Drop Angle - Opening more surface area of the rim to shoot into - think “up not through” on the release.
